Dare 2 Dream Racing
Sandy Rose
Sandy
Rose Bauler has been racing for five years and has two
championships to her credit. In 2003, she will be driving
her 2001 Monte Carlo #76 in the NASCAR® Late Model
Sportsman weekly racing series at Cajon Speedway.
Sandy
suffered a near-fatal crash in October 2000 but after
six months of nursing care and rehabilitation she has
recovered and is currently training and seeking sponsors
for her return to NASCAR racing with the D2D Racing Team
this spring.
Sandy
Rose is dedicated to using her sport and her inspirational
story to mentor and educate local youth and families about
racing, responsibility, and reaching for your dreams.
The D2D team, lead by Sandy Rose, volunteers over 1200
hours per year to programs such as Safe Havens for Little
People, Girl and Boy Scouts of America, foster care programs,
women's, youth and non-profit organizations. Sandy also
speaks at colleges, middle schools, community-based organizations,
and businesses.
Sandy
is a spokesperson for Mothers Against Drunk Driving San
Diego. MADD has partnered with D2D Racing to form the
Crew MADD fan club and the Team MADD program, educating
youth and race fans on racing, traffic safety, and the
dangers of underage drinking. Sandy is also a spokesperson
for the San Diego Chapter of Racers Against Drugs. She
helps organize racers from the Junior Dragsters and Winston
Cup show cars to visit schools to teach youth to reach
for dreams and not drugs (racersagainstdrugs.org).
In
2002, Sandy has been recognized for her community contributions
by Channel 10, Car Talk on KFMB Radio, San Diego Auto
Museum, San Diego MADD, the Jenna Druck Foundation, Channel
8, and Girl Scouts of America.
As
a contractor with the San Diego Workforce Partnership,
Sandy works with San Diego's hard-to-serve communities
in some of the city's toughest neighborhoods. Sandy lives
in Santee and is married with four children. For more
